Works and Projects

Distant friends is a project I started at the beginning of the COVID 19 pandemic and related restrictions on travel and socializing.  Using friends' social media profile pictures as the basis to create pixcellated portraits using lego tiles as a relief printing matrix.  Hand printed in 12-16 layers on kozo paper, these works speak about how wonderful that we have digital tools to keep in touch, but also what a poor substitute it is compared to actual in person contact.

CURRENTLY ON EXHIBITION

Distant Friends is currently on show at Megalo Print Studio and Gallery, Canberra.  All works are for sale through Megalo.  Exhibition runs Feb 4 - March 25 2023.

This project is supported by the Australian Capital Territory through an artsACT Homefront grant.
